No Presents Till Christmas

Alright, I have a hard enough time waiting till Christmas to open my gifts so I can only imagine how hard it must be for Sophie. She is doing a really good job restraining herself however, she does have a couple lapses a day, and with all the presents spilling out from under the tree who can blame her?

Take yesterday for example, I was in the kitchen cleaning up and Sophie was in the great room "looking" at the Christmas tree. I walked in to the room and startled her. What happened next was something only Jack Tripper could have rivaled. She jumped up then started to run, the floor was slippery apparently so she ran in place for a second then fell straight on her face and covered her eyes with her hands. It was only after all of that happened that I realized she had been trying to pull a present out from under the tree. She started crying, "I want to open mine Piglet present!" (my mom wrapped her present in Winnie the Pooh wrapping).

It's hard explaining to her that she has to wait till Christmas when she thinks Christmas is Santa. So I just say what any good mom says "Let's ask Daddy when he gets home". Passing the buck, parent style.

Jake! You must respond with a firm "It's up to Mommy".
