If A Tree Falls In A Forest..

Ok we all know the answer to that old chestnut, but what about leaves falling on your neighbors' lawn? Since it's our tree, do we rake them up?

We never had this dilemma when I was a kid, as our lawn was separated from our neighbors' by several acres of woods. Here (pictured above on a recent gorgeous day, taken from our deck) we don't even have fences.

Thankfully we only have a few trees on our property now, and the lawnmower my sister gave us has more than met the challenge.

My theory is that if they are going to enjoy the shade and wind protection from you tree, no. Although the neighborly thing to do is offer, and if they turn down the offer there are no hard feelings.

Well lucky Jake, our neighbor mowed his lawn and sucked up all the leaves from our tree.

Lucky "Jake"? Oh I see, the lawn is solely my responsibility now that it's freezing outside? You're such a fair-weather feminist ;)

You come up here and bake me a cake and we'll talk. ;)
